Staging, live, or a host-level staging domain. If it is behind a login, sign in inside the review window when it asks.
Paste the URL, send one link. Your client comments straight on the page and every comment arrives with the element, the browser and the device it came from. No plugin to install and nothing to remove afterwards.

Every other platform in this set gives you something. WordPress gives you a comment form at the bottom of a blog post, which is not a review tool and was never meant to be one.
So the default review path on a WordPress build is one of three things, and all three are bad:
The client marks up a JPEG in Preview, you get a red circle and the words "this bit". Nobody knows which breakpoint it was taken at.
"The button under the third section on the about page is the wrong blue." Two rounds in, nobody can tell which items are done.
Which means a plugin conflict, a caching problem, and a live site carrying review code it should not have.
How it works
Staging, live, or a host-level staging domain. If it is behind a login, sign in inside the review window when it asks.
Your client opens it in their own browser. No wp-admin account, no user role to create, no BugSmash account.
Every comment carries the page, the element, the browser and a screenshot. Push it into Jira, ClickUp, Monday, Asana, Trello or Slack.
Comments attach to the thing on the page, so "this heading" is unambiguous without a marked-up JPEG in an email.
Desktop, tablet and mobile in the same link. Responsive is most of the job on a Webflow build, so a desktop-only review is half a review.
Blog posts, case studies, product templates. Each published Collection page is a URL, so each one is reviewable.
Every comment records what the reviewer was on. No follow-up thread to work out why you cannot reproduce it.
Republish, add a new version, and compare against what the client signed off on last round.
Who approved, on which version, on what date. That record stays with you, not with the Webflow site.
The review window loads the page in a real browser session, so anything you can sign in to yourself, you can sign in to here. Nothing is handed over to BugSmash and no credentials are stored.
| Your URL | Review by URL | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Live public site | Works | Paste and go. |
| Managed-host staging behind HTTP Basic Auth | Works | Sign in to the staging gate inside the review window, the same as you would in a browser. |
| Coming-soon or maintenance-mode plugin with a password | Works | It is a password form, so you complete it inside the review window. |
| A page that requires a wp-admin or member login | Works | wp-admin is a username and password form, so sign in inside the review window. |
| Sign in with Google, or SSO on the login screen | Not supported | There is no password to pass through. Install the Feedback Widget. |
| Heavy page-builder animation, parallax, WebGL | Renders, fidelity varies | Install the Feedback Widget for motion-heavy builds. |
One script in the theme header, or through any header-and-footer scripts plugin. Two things to know: purge your cache after adding it, because a cached page will serve without it, and remember to remove it when the review is finished.
From monthly retainers to site takeovers, keep reviewers on the published page and every change request in one accountable workflow.

Monthly change requests arrive as a list against the live page instead of a thread that restarts every month.

Audit and quote on a WordPress site you have no admin access to, because a public URL is all you need.
See how
Legal, brand and the product lead all review the same page without anyone creating a WordPress user for them.
See howA comment on the hero section becomes a ticket with the URL, the element, the screenshot and the browser already attached.
Context stays attached from comment to completion.

The destination changes. The context does not.
A Webflow launch is rarely only a Webflow launch. The same project holds the pitch deck, the brand PDF, the launch video, the ad creative, the email template and the mobile build, each reviewed the same way, each on the same approval record.

Up to 40% offThis year marked our strongest period of growth to date. Revenue climbed 42% year over year while our customer base expanded across eleven new markets, driven by continued investment in product.

Operational efficiency improved as automated workflows reduced manual review time by nearly a third. Looking ahead, we plan to double down on infrastructure, deepen key partnerships, and ship the roadmap our customers have been asking for.

No. Nothing is installed, nothing touches the database, and there is nothing to deactivate afterwards. The Feedback Widget is optional and is only needed for social or SSO logins and motion-heavy builds.
