Base44 provides a built-in URL, publishing controls, testing links, preview comments, visibility levels, roles, login and SSO. Each controls a different part of review.
Four documented boundaries matter before review:
Base44 documents a free built-in URL from app creation. Publishing puts the latest changes live at that address, which can be personalized.
With Test Data enabled, Base44 can create a testing link that shows unpublished changes and writes only to the separate test database, not production data.
Base44 comments are pinned to elements in the app preview, are visible to collaborators in the editor, and are not shown to people using the published app.
Base44 documents Public, Private and Workspace visibility. Private and Workspace access require sign-in, and roles determine what an admitted user can do. A pasted URL does not bypass these rules.
How it works
Use the live base44.app or custom-domain URL for production review, or copy a testing link when reviewers need unpublished changes and isolated test data.
Paste the accessible URL into BugSmash and share the generated review link with the client, product or QA team.
Apply the approved changes in Base44, click Publish to put the latest version live, and verify the intended visibility, role and data state.
Attach feedback to the page and element the user is actually navigating.
Use Base44’s testing link for unpublished changes and test data without changing the live app or production records.
Keep Base44 preview comments for collaborators while BugSmash gathers feedback on a shared browser surface.
Review desktop and mobile layouts while retaining the viewport with every comment.
Keep the page URL, browser, operating system, viewport and screenshot with each application comment.
Visibility, login, roles, invitations and SSO continue to determine what each reviewer can open and do.
Use the built-in base44.app address, a connected custom domain or a Base44 testing link. A pasted URL does not bypass Private or Workspace visibility, login, roles or SSO.
| Your URL | Review by URL | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Public built-in base44.app URL | Works | Paste the current built-in app address and review the live version. |
| Connected Base44 custom domain or subdomain | Works when connected | Use the live HTTPS address after Base44 connects the domain and issues its SSL certificate. |
| Base44 testing link | Works when enabled | Use the copied testing link for unpublished changes and isolated test data. |
| App editor Preview | Editor surface | Use native preview comments with collaborators, or share a testing link or live app URL for browser review. |
| Private or Workspace app | Sign-in required | Use the Feedback Widget after Base44 admits and authenticates the reviewer. A Website-project URL does not grant access. |
| SSO-controlled Base44 app | Identity-provider access required | Use the Feedback Widget after Base44 completes SSO. A Website-project URL does not bypass SSO. |
Add the BugSmash Feedback Widget when review must remain inside a Private, Workspace, SSO-controlled or stateful Base44 experience. Base44 continues to control admission, login and roles.
Move from editor collaboration and test data to live-app sign-off while keeping builders, clients and QA aligned on the same browser state.

Keep native preview comments in the editor while collecting external feedback on the intended browser link.

Operational efficiency improved as automated workflows reduced manual review time by nearly a third. Looking ahead, we plan to double down on infrastructure, deepen key partnerships, and ship the roadmap our customers have been asking for.

Use the current base44.app address or connected custom domain for the live app. Use a testing link when reviewers need unpublished changes and the separate test database.
Paste an accessible Base44 live or testing URL and send a focused review link.
