Weebly distinguishes the editor preview from the published website and provides separate controls for domains, passwords, members and unpublishing.
Four documented boundaries matter before review:
The Weebly editor can preview the site as it will appear live and provide a link to share. Publishing is what makes the website visible online.
A free plan can publish to a weebly.com subdomain. Hosting on a custom domain requires an active paid plan, and external DNS changes can take 24 to 48 hours to propagate.
Weebly can password protect an entire site or standard pages, and eligible plans can restrict pages to selected members or groups.
Weebly’s official affected-country notice scheduled existing sites in 67 listed countries to be unpublished on September 27, 2026, with account access scheduled to end on December 26, 2026.
How it works
Use the live weebly.com or custom-domain page, or copy the editor preview link when the review concerns work that is not yet published.
Paste the accessible URL into BugSmash and share the generated review link with the client or QA team.
Apply the agreed revisions in Weebly, publish the site, and verify the live page and domain before sign-off.
Attach feedback to the rendered page location instead of translating it into an email list.
Review the editor-generated preview link before publishing when it is accessible to the intended stakeholders.
Review responsive presentation while retaining the viewport with every comment.
Keep the page URL, browser, operating system, viewport and screenshot with each website comment.
External reviewers can use a browser URL without receiving Weebly dashboard or editor access.
Site passwords, page passwords and member/group visibility continue to control restricted content.
Use a published Weebly subdomain, connected custom domain or accessible shareable preview. A pasted URL does not bypass Weebly passwords, member visibility or an unpublished state.
| Your URL | Review by URL | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Published your-site.weebly.com address | Works | Paste the published free-subdomain page and begin review. |
| Published connected custom domain | Works | Use the live domain after its paid plan, DNS records and publication state are active. |
| Weebly shareable preview link | Works when accessible | Use the preview link for pre-publication review and confirm it opens for the intended reviewers. |
| Password-protected site or standard page | Password required | Use the Feedback Widget inside the password-authorized page. A Website-project review URL does not remove the Weebly password. |
| Member- or group-restricted page | Member access required | Use the Feedback Widget on the page after Weebly authenticates an allowed member. A Website-project review URL does not grant member access. |
| Site covered by Weebly’s affected-country notice | Verify current availability | Check the site’s current state and follow Weebly’s migration and data-export guidance before the December 26, 2026 account-access deadline. |
Use the BugSmash Feedback Widget when review must remain inside a password-protected, member-authorized or stateful page. Weebly continues to decide who can open the content.
From editor previews to published-site sign-off, keep site owners, clients and QA aligned on the same Weebly page.

Collect structured comments on the live page without turning feedback into a dashboard task.
